The UCP 800 Duro machining center is conceived as a moving slide machine. All three linear motions are carried out by the tool. The machine body in polymer concrete is the base of this concept. Due to the self-rigidity, a long time precision accuracy is achieved without special foundation. The points of assembly carrying the work tables are at a low level, guaranteeing good access from all sides. A well ribbed cast iron cross beam, resting on the raised lateral twin-columns at the rear of the machine base receives the three-axes unit. This unit includes a cross slide of the X motion, a transversal slide for the Y motion and the spindle slide for the Z motion. The guide ways installed far apart and the compact construction of these elements form the basis for the high geometric accuracy of this machining center.
